You can put pages or notes into several categories, add notes to piecs of web info and more! This great plugin even auto detects information from several sources online and can propagate important info for you. There is a way to run it from a usb flash drive, a portable firefox research tool, zotero.

I am now testing this handy web saver and comparing it with yoono – they both are plugins that help me save info from the web, and I am so glad these are available today!

Adobe is launching the application, called AIR, on Monday. Adobe says AIR will allow any company with a Web site to inhabit a permanent spot on people’s desktops.

It also reduces the wait time for downloading images and data, because the desktop is constantly updated while the computer is online.

Adobe says AIR runs on any operating system.

Look for Ebay to be one the first to show up on your desktop in a widget using Adobe AIR. I think this is a cool idea, I do wonder what the effects will be on my system performance when I get a half dozen direct connect widgets running for various web sites. I would like to see a multiple rss feed style widget like this however. I am not familiar with the capabilities of the AIR widget system from adobe, I wonder if it will be able to run flash web sites and music and such.

Would be very cool to have something like this that could be a widget for mobile devices allowing current flash video and flash sites to play with.

This web site I just stumbled upon offers not just video conferencing, but hi definition video. There have been several occasions when I have resorted to video conferencing for sharing project details with colleagues, but when the subject comes up for sharing our projects to potential investors and clients, we normally fly out and meet up. With this hi definitionn videoconferencing option, we may be able to have virtual meetups that keep us looking on top of technology rather than having the substandard video technology getting int he way of our message.

So if you need hi quality Videoconferencing check out lifesize, the hi definition hardware and software available there will get your message looking as good as the info itself. With option such as:

High definition video communications (1280 x 720 resolution, 30 frames per second)

Support for video bandwidth from 128Kbps up to 5 Mbps

You know that this is an online video service that is top notch, using the best technology available today.

I’m sure my friends are tired of hearing tell them about TrueCrypt, but now I have another excuse to remind everyone about this free encryption software, there’s a new version with new features! For those of you living under a rock, TrueCrypt is one of the programs that will hide your valuable data from prying eyes, it not only makes files of your choice hidden behind a password, but it also encrypts, or in layman’s terms. shreds the file behind a bunch of random characters, so if your boss, spouse, ex, or anyone tries to use some geeky method to find your hidden files, all they will find is some random data which makes no sense, without your password.

I know Danny has been using truecrypt to hide adults only pics and videos from his family (good safeguard Danny, I’m glad you are being a responsible adult surfer), Jerry has been keeping his medical reports under lock and key with it when he takes work home. I use it to secure all the docs and photos on my USB thumb drive. I also keep a backup copy of all my pictures from college encrypted. It’s a great way to store financial information for emergencies as well.

I’m a big fan of TrueCrypt and PGP, I’ve been using Handybits Easycrypto for a while as well, but the truecrypt is what I use on my USB thumb drives and my main system now. There are cool new features that allow mac users to use it, and linux users get a better GUI, and some other goodies added in as well. Download the program and go through the tutorial for using it. It takes a few minutes the first time, after that you are all set and you can use this great data safeguard anywhere.

A few people have had some issues with it working in some scenarios with a mac – check out the truecrypt 5 discussion at digg for some of that info.

“Scottish researchers are turning camera phones to help bridge the virtual world and the real world. Using image-matching algorithms the researchers have found a way to adorn the real world with digital content.

The technology has already been used to create a guide of Edinburgh that allows people to find virtual artworks placed around the city using their mobile.

Another related project uses the technology to automatically update a person’s blog with their location.

Margret Sloan writes in her blog that TivoToGo is up and running and allows Tivo users to use the service for free and its available for both Mac and Windows computers and works with several portable devices including the PSP. To get your Tivoed programs on your mobile do the following:

First, transfer recordings to your desktop or laptop.
Consider it in-flight entertainment. After you have downloaded and installed the TiVo Desktop software, you can begin sending shows to a networked computer in another room of the house or any wireless laptop. Then, transfer a selection of your TiVo favorites and you are off.

Then, save recordings to your mobile device
Once the programs are transferred to a computer, the TiVoToGo software can encode them for a compatible handheld device. You can even schedule recordings and instruct the TiVoToGo software to automatically transfer new shows when they become available.
