Rehab and detox may be easier with suboxone

I have watched several close friends go through the addictions to pills the past few years. Really great people who started with a prescription to pain pills like hydrocodone, and end up addicted to pain killers, some even moving up to oxycontin. It’s horrible to see these girls try to stop taking the pills only to be in more pain with detox. It’s made me sick to think there isn’t much I can do for them. Today I was reading about a new drug and treatment program that blocks the drugs from working, making detox easier.

Certainly this has to be a better option than the methadone replacement therapy which simply replaces one opiate addiction with another. There are several suboxone treatment centers using this suboxone therapy now.

Opiate painkillers are serious business. There is a lot of money being made with loratabs, vicotins, and OCs or oxy. Hydrocodone is the most prescribed drug in all of Tennessee and West Virginia from what I read in the news recently. I think it is great that we have drugs that can stop pain when it is serious, however these drugs tend to cause much more pain with the detox, and torn families and relationships than they are worth. I think we need to find alternative pain relievers, acupuncture or something. IT is horrible that the cure for pain often causes much more in the long run. I have one girlfriend who has turned into a whore because of her addiction to pain meds, and another who has turned into a pin cushion, with horrible sores all over her face and arms, yet she still continues to shoot up. We need changes, perhaps this suboxone detox is a step in the right direction.

Podcasts gaining popularity again

I have spoken with two friend in the past week that are starting new podcasts. I found that quite odd, as podcasting was a big buzz word two years ago, I had thought that there were a couple of popular podcasts out there, but for the most part rss text was still king. Perhaps since I still do not have an ipod, or similar device in my tech arsenal, then I am not as aware of the video and audio podcasts that may get listened to or watched everyday. I still use the DVR and streaming video, I do occasionally hear an audio cast withing my netvibes feed reader, perhaps if I had a portable mp3 player I would find some good webcasts to listen to.

This week I also see a story in one of my rss feeds (via netvibes) talking about podcasting picking up steam and advertisers are looking to step up advertising in this arena as well. I certainly hope Steve and Glen’s podcasts take off. I know Glen is looking to do a video podcast, I just hope there are easier ways to subscribe to them, currently Itunes will not let me preview podcasts without having iTunes installed on my machine, which means I can’t listen in at work, no iTunes will be installed on this system.

I think there was a movement for some time to rebrand podcasts as webcasts or something, since audio and video files put into an rss feed can be listened to on other portable devices, no need for an ipod to listen in. Perhaps there will be mix of this webcasting with you tube channels and such, perhaps there already is a way to auto-download video channels online without itunes, is anyone doing this already?

CES 2008 tomorrow

Wendy and I are heading to the airport in route to the consumer electronics show this year in Las Vegas and have already been eying a couple of new gadgets to be showcased there, one of them being the Motorola mobile video projector. If this years CES is anything like last years then I am sure I am going to have a great time but my feet are going to hurt, and my mind is going to be left wanting so much, along with a lot of chit chat, laughs and good times. Anyways I am off to the airport, later.

My friend Selena Jackson sent me a link to this great new Wordpress plug-in called WPhone which creates an option to replace the default admin interface with one designed for your mobile phone and it allows for two different types of mobile admin interface.

Mrs Marilyn Mueller not the other one

Mrs Marilyn Mueller has all the personality Mrs Monroe did but a even greater look in my opinion, since she has dark colored hair not blond like the famous Marilyn. Who knows, one day she may become famous because of her beauty and her thoughts because her ideas are very well thought out and to listen to her talk about some of things she is into, just blows me away you can read some of her thoughts and ideas over on her new blog. She also plays violin and heads up the PTA in her local community. She is a mother of three children and is one very outgoing person, which should reflect in her posts.

I still remember the first time I saw this lady named Darlene she was chewing some guy out and he said “sorry girl it wont happen again” and she snapped and said “Thats Misses Mackenzie to you sir not girl” and he said “sorry Misses Mackenize it would not happen again mam I promise” which sent me almost rolling to the floor laughing out loud but then she pointed and snapped her finger and said, go. Which the drunk old man that was peeing on her flowers in her yard, did, and in a hurry. Then I walked over and introduced myself, and that is how I first met my neighbor and friend Darlene Mackenzie

See Noreen how easy this is

My friend from way back when Noreen is sitting beside me, she has just started up her Wordpress blog and I am showing her here, how to post to it, with this actual post. Now she wants to know how to link so bam Noreen is now linked. The next is a picture but I do not have any worth uploading on this computer to the internet but wham bam and we did the picture upload, sorry for all those who do not get to see the cute pic we put up for this post. The final steps are the category selections and then push the publish button.

Spreading the blogging word

After sharing that I had a blog and showed it around to my family and friends, some of them wanted one to even my own Granny. Since Wordpress is what I use to blog with I recommended they used a Wordpress blogging platform to start with, for ease of use and for me being able to train them to use it. After a couple of days of buying the domains and choosing a server to host them on we finally got them up and running and these gals should be posting some of the great things that women write, when it comes to what they know. If you enjoy reading my blog, well I am sure you will be amazed at what these womens bloggers have to say that I am going to show you in coming posts.

Have not had a lot of time to blog the last month or two because a dear friend of mine was in a car wreck and was critical condition for several weeks before passing away at the Hospital. She was hit by a drunk driver going the wrong way, and from what I hear he only had a scratch on him after the wreck. She will be missed by many, she leaves behind two daughters and a husband. Please if you drink and are reading this remember do NOT drive when drinking.
