Solar Engery Gets Concentrated with new initiative, and funding from google

I found this story at now public that has info about how a company is using a concentrated solar energy system to produce energy in mainly in the southwest solar tech picUS. Apparently they have gotten some funding from the google.org initiative and they have a goal to produce solar energy cheaper than what it costs to produce energy from coal. It’s a great thing to do!

I checked out their web site, and found it very forward thinking with modular solar concentrating panels that will allow larger installations to continue to run if part of the system goes down. The modular panels should also keep costs down and other maintenance affordable. I hope this takes off and they can find a way to make it efficient enough to be made available throughout the rest of the world. I wonder of the new darkest material nano technology will help this work better.
