Computer fixes with a phone call
I’ve been the go to girl for many a family and friend in computer need, but these days there are so many more variable when it comes to getting a computer running at optimal speed with so many different viruses, spyware, hardware types, operating systems, and the list goes on and on. Even a geek gal like me has to call on an expert to help with a computer issue now and again.
Recently a good friend called me about setting up a wireless network with their windows vista machine, I had never set up a wireless network, but thought I could probably breeze through the directions and make it work within a few minutes, so I went over and got started on plugging everything in and setting things up according to the instructions. Wow. Vista is a whole ‘nother animal, and networking wireless with the Acer system and vista turned out to be much more than I bargained for. I couldn’t get it to connect, and I was so frustrated that I had spent so much time trying to get it work. This is when we called for some professional assistance.
We called PcAskMe and got a tech on the phone, they logged into her machine (I had the wired ethernet working fine), he made a few adjustments and viola’, it was connected to the wireless and we were surfing without the wired cable minutes later. So my advice to family and friends, if you’ve got a newer system and don’t want to waste a lot of time, don’t call me, call an expert. The people as PcAskMe can do most computer repairs online without you having to leave the house. They will save us both a ton of time and frustration, and I look forward to services like these making my life much easier.
