I had seen the ads here and there for this iDrive – online backup of your data, encrypted, and free up to 2 GB. It always caught my eye, but I’ve been so busy, I have yet to backup anything this year. Generally I back up my entire hard drive every week, I am not going to find myself trying to redo all the work for the past month, so I definitely backup more than once a month.
After reading a post by Matt Cutts today talking about a recent power failure left him with some issues and loss of time trying to get backup information, he was talking about how a cloud service would be a better backup than what he had at home. Well if Matt is thinking that an online data backup is better than what he can do at home, I guess it got me thinking more about this service.
Since the online data backup at iDrive is encrypted, I will be using it. I would never use a non encrypted online data solution. With 2GB of free space, I can certainly save my most important documents and templates free. if the service is fast enough I may even look at the paid service, since it would be nice to have an emergency backup of all my pictures and mp3 music. Having the backup online would mean that I can get that info anywhere in the world, even when traveling, or if some kind of natural disaster was to hit the area, there one be one less thing to worry about.
This service could be a real life saver, in several ways, I may try to paid version to see how long it takes to upload photos. If it is fast enough I could see saving photos there every time I download them my card. For every computer crash I have ever heard about, the first thing every woman worries about is her precious irreplaceable photos that were on the hard drive. This way they would always be safe on another drive for a backup. Of course the BF wants me to scan and store copies of our insurance and other account info as well, and thats a great idea too.
Encrypted Online Backup

Home Box Office Television announced they would be putting shows online this year for subscribers to download. At first the service will only be offered in a couple select U.S. cities but plans are to expand it to everyone who subscribes to the service in America, like me. And although most of the shows I am watching today are on Shotime, which already offers the ability to download and watch some of its series online, I am looking forward to when HBO will one day allow everyone who subscribes to its service to be able to watch every show they offer online, whenever and wherever they want to.
At party this weekend someone was telling me how they were making money by trading money in various foreign currencies. They said that they had foreseen the value of the dollar going down, so they bought a bunch of Euros and waited, and now have bought more dollars than they had used to buy the Euros. I of course asked how she got into this and she described a web site that made it fun with cool graphics.
Being the geek girl that I am I decided to check it out, and I was quite impressed with the graphics, or GUI that was available. You can find it at Etoro.com foreign currency trading .They have a cool part of the program that lets you play with virtual money to see how it works in the real world of “forex trading”.
Now if I could only use a crystal ball to know which currencies will be going and down over the next few months, I may have a chance to multiple these dollars using Euros or yen.
Some people will undoubtedly appreciate the available live chat. I think it is something that makes me feel more comfortable doing business somewhere, and shows that the web company in question is not just some random static html page. I wish all financial sites took more of a graphic approach like this.
There is this great funny clip that is about 7 minutes long on YouTube that has a lot of different funny home videos compiled together that will have you laughing till it hurts. My favorite home video out of the bunch on the clip is when a cat is chasing a toy that is attached to the ceiling fan and he makes a big swipe at it that would have made Mike Tyson jealous. If your in need of a good laugh then be sure to click over and watch this great clip of hilarious home videos.
Bad credit is easy to get, yet hard to get rid of. Even worse when you have bad credit, getting a loan can be difficult and may make you try to live without. I’ve done some research for friends that have been faced with the need for small loans, yet not having the credit necessary to acquire a signature loan at a bank. One web site that makes it easier to get a loan when you have not so perfect credit is bad credit loans.
This web site will give you several offer opportunities to consider, so I think it is one of the better options out there.
Once you get loan and make your payments you will be on your way to making your credit history better and better. I imagine there will be a lot of need for services like this with all of the layoffs going around the country, and the way the economy has been lately.
