This happened in Beijing on a subway - security cameras caught two people kissing, someone leaked it onto the internet (you tube) and the couple is now suing. Invasion of privacy? Maybe. Inappropriate use of security cameras? Definitely.
Story found via yahoo news / Reuters
excerpt:
The three-minute video of the couple in their 20s was shot in September and uploaded to Youtube and Chinese video-sharing Web sites last week, Tuesday’s China Daily reported, citing a local newspaper.
I hope they win this lawsuit and people that have access to security camera footage will also be held individually responsible for shenanigans like this. I would be mortified to have my family sent videos of me engaging in PDA.

I found a site that offers hundreds of hypnosis audio programs to download. It’s a paid premium site, not a free download place, but the prices are good if you download more than one program. The first thing I realized when visiting the site is that they have a ton of audio hypnosis downloads.
The selection is much bigger than I imagined, they seem to have a hypnosis program for just about every fear, need, and desire. I can’t buy them until I get paid next week, and I want to try a few of them to get the discount. I do wonder if it is a guided meditation or subliminal program. If anyone has tried these out let me know, I like both types of programs, I just don’t have as much time for the guided audio programs these days.
The price is great if you can find 5 of the programs to download. There are two I’d like to have right now.

I found this story at now public that has info about how a company is using a concentrated solar energy system to produce energy in mainly in the southwest
US. Apparently they have gotten some funding from the google.org initiative and they have a goal to produce solar energy cheaper than what it costs to produce energy from coal. It’s a great thing to do!
I checked out their web site, and found it very forward thinking with modular solar concentrating panels that will allow larger installations to continue to run if part of the system goes down. The modular panels should also keep costs down and other maintenance affordable. I hope this takes off and they can find a way to make it efficient enough to be made available throughout the rest of the world. I wonder of the new darkest material nano technology will help this work better.

When someone told me about a .info site that offered office supply discounts, I jotted it down, budgets are tight these days, and I need to make sure to squeeze every dollar out of our monthly budget. So I preceded to check out the site, office products which gives you the opportunity to sign up for discounts and coupons from several of the major office supply and office furniture retailers nationwide.
They have a section for officemax discounts, and a few other retailers, and even vistaprints including online discounts. The vistaprint discount would have saved me $40 two weeks ago if I had seen it then, but I did pass the info along to Bob and Sherry, as they have yet to order new business cards for 2008.
At first glance I had thought that there would be a long sign up process to take advantage of the discounts, but vista print process was simply a click! Right over to their web site, with the 75% off opportunity set. Simple, effective and I wish I had known about this site earlier in the year!
Special thanks to Jacqueline for suggesting it! Usually I am the one telling people about the good sites online, at least with this one I can share it now.

It looks like a futuristic hardcore car of the future. Well it is, but they are calling it a truck. I could definitely see myself driving on these babies! Looks like something you would expect robocop to be driving in the urban future, but it’s a concept car that is eco friendly and has some very useful features that I wish would be incorporated into my current car.
The Toyota A-bat
From yahoo Autos - Jan 2008

The driver and three passengers sit in a highly defined cockpit with a sculptured alloy center console that is fitted with a portable power pack — so needed in the world of electronics. The power pack and portable navigation unit are recharged by dash-mounted solar panels.
The 4-foot long rear cargo bed has a translucent roof panel that slides open to accommodate taller objects, and the midgate has a pass-through that lengthens the bed by two feet. The cargo bed of the A-BAT is cleverly designed so that it can slide in and out, and carry a small motorcycle, camping gear, or whatever sorts of recreational equipment you desire. This Toyota concept is built on a unibody platform so that it rides smoothly on city streets and highways.
