Tim Berners-Lee Keynotes 3GSM World Congress

“Tim Berners-Lee, W3C Director and inventor of the Web, opened the 3GSM World Congress on Monday 12 February in Barcelona, Spain with a keynote address at the Mobile Innovation Forum. Berners-Lee spoke on the role of innovation and openness in the Web’s success, and how the W3C Mobile Web Initiative brings mobile telephony into convergence with the Web and aids in bridging the digital divide.”
There could not have been a better way to open up this years event Tim did an excellent job, delivering his speech to a packed house.

CBS Corporation has created CBS Mobile, a new platform within CBS Interactive dedicated to building and growing the Companies mobile operation across its various properties, including CBS Entertainment, CBS Sports and CBS News. Although they only offer a few shows as of now they plan offer over 1000 shows by the end of the month. You can also download ringtones voicetones and wallpapers of your favorite shows and stars.CBS Mobile also offers free video games and other free applications you can download to your mobile device via the web site. Selena Jackson has done a more indepth review on her blog of the new CBS website and is worth a read if you want to learn more about some of the other services and features it offers mobile web surfers.
