Verizon to allow ads on its mobile phones
Verizon Wireless is going to start to allow ads on its mobile phones starting early next year, limiting what content can be advertised by advertisers and the placements of ads they run ,in order to generate more revenue.which is estimated to be in the billions by 2010. So it got me thinking that an ad free provider or some sort of Tivo like device will be advertised or invented in the near future for mobile web surfers, since consumers from radio to television have shown they love ad free entertainment and are willing to pay or switch services in order to keep it that way.Ashley must have been reading my mind when she wrote this line in her blog ”as if viewing a 3 inch screen and surfing the web from my mobile phone was’nt already slow enough compared to surfing and viewing it from my desktop and flat screen is, they had to go and make doanloading mobile web content slower and the viewing space smaller just in order to make some more money makes me mad.” So it made me think if the developemnt of software written in order to allow users to surf the mobile web ad free would be worth writing for an open source project ? Maybe if enough users complain about the ads and it costs Verizon Wireless more to deal with consumer complaints and loss of subscriptions due to the ads then it makes from them then they will just go away and such a code will never need to be written or service promoted but with so much money to be made I think it is only a matter of time before such code is written or service offered. Which makes me wonder if we will then start to see advertisments in the actual text or video we view on the mobile web in order to combat such software, an example of this is would be many television shows now have alot more product placement from advertisers in the shows themselves because of devices like Tivo an example of this would be the Star of the show drinking a certain type of beverage or wearing a certain clothing designer and the other co-stars commenting on the use of such product in a way that makes the product desirable to the viewer.Would be a terrible shame in my opinon to be reading the sports news in the future and nested in the article is something like this ” Derrick Jeter wearing his Puma cleats hit a three run homer to beat the Braves to cliched a spot for the New York Yankess in the world series ” ofcourse notice the ad for the cleats and the city of New York because of the line not mentioning the city Atlanta, just for the purposes of advertising makes me wonder if the loss of information and the adding of unneeded information is the future of information and entertainment. But enough wondering for me today I am more interested in reading what you the reader has to write abou this issue, so please chime in with your thoughts and ideas on the subjects above.

This looks alot like what some advertisers are doing now but instead are just highlighting words in the stories that link to advertisements.
